As mentioned at the frontpage the name Honey Mountain originates from sounding simply delicious, and it connects passions!

We are Sanna and Markus and we live in the mountains of Uri. We take care of 1’600’000 bees which are responsible for very fine honey. We also offer hiking experiences in the mountains and have Capra Grigia goats.

Welcome to Honigberg!

The name Honigberg (=Honeymountain) sounds sweet — and for us, it brings together the things we love most.

We are Sanna and Markus, living in the mountains of Uri, surrounded by nature that inspires us every day. Here, we care for around 6 million bees, producing fine honey and precious bee products. At the same time, we spend as much time as possible outdoors in the mountains.

We love sharing these passions with others through our different offers. On our guided hikes, you can experience the mountains in a mindful, safe and enjoyable way — sometimes calm and relaxed, sometimes active and full of discoveries.

On our goat hikes, you can enjoy a unique little adventure with our lovely and curious Capra Grigia goats. They bring their own rhythm, charm and character to the tour, making each hike a memorable experience for people of all ages.

Whether you join us for a mountain experience, a goat hike, or enjoy a jar of honey at home, we are happy to share a little piece of Honigberg with you.

Sanna Laurén

Mountain Leader & Goat Lady

Founder of Honigberg.ch and a professional mountain leader SBV with a Swiss Federal Diploma, UIMLA and T4 training.

Mountains and animals are her great passion. She came to Switzerland in 2012 because of the mountains. Originally, she comes from Finland. Her love for the mountains and nature has brought her and her partner Markus up to a small mountain village in Uri. 

Sanna as a tourism professional has completed her training as a mountain leader at the Swiss Mountain Guide Association, SBV, in March 2019. In October 2019 /January 2020 she has successfully passed the exams as a mountain leader with a Swiss federal diploma. She is an accredited UIMLA (Union of International Mountain Leader Association) mountain leader. In June 2021 she completed the additional training for T4 routes (alpine hiking trails).

Before arriving in Switzerland, she worked for 10 years in Chamonix, France and 2 seasons in Niseko, Japan as a ski tour guide.

Sanna speaks fluent German, English and of course her native Finnish. 

She has been guiding hikes regularly for the Urner Wanderwege club since 2017. On summer 2017, she implemented a 48-day relaunch project “Urner Alpenkranz live!” as a long-distance trekking project, together with Markus, and was hiking through all the 40 stages at one go.  www.alpenkranz.ch.

Markus Fehlmann

Master beekeeper & goat master =)

Markus brings together nature, health and beekeeping in a unique way. As a master beekeeper, nature and outdoor educator, qualified social pedagogue and health promotion specialist, he combines in-depth knowledge, broad experience and a great passion for the world of bees.

He is the founder of WABENGOLD Beekeeping & Consulting Fehlmann. Through his work, he connects beekeeping, bee management, consulting, education, apitherapy and health-promoting offers. For Markus, it is not only about high-quality honey and bee products, but also about sharing knowledge, creating meaningful nature experiences and encouraging a mindful relationship with people and the environment.

At Honigberg, Markus takes care of the well-being of the bees and makes the fascinating world of honeybees accessible and inspiring for others.

Beekeeping businesses make a valuable contribution to biodiversity. The importance of beekeeping can be seen, among other things, in the fact that around one third of our food depends directly or indirectly on pollination by bees.

By keeping bees, beekeepers not only support the production of honey, but also help preserve native plants and agricultural crops.
