As mentioned at the frontpage the name Honey Mountain originates from sounding simply delicious, and it connects passions!

We are Sanna and Markus and we live in the mountains of Uri. We take care of 1’600’000 bees which are responsible for very fine honey. We also offer hiking experiences in the mountains and have Capra Grigia goats.

Sanna Laurén

Mountains and animals are her great passion. She came to Switzerland in 2012 because of the mountains. Originally, she comes from Finland. Her love for the mountains and nature has brought her and her partner Markus up to a small mountain village in Uri.

Sanna as a tourism professional has completed her training as a mountain leader at the Swiss Mountain Guide Association, SBV, in March 2019. In October 2019 /January 2020 she has successfully passed the exams as a mountain leader with a Swiss federal diploma. She is an accredited UIMLA (Union of International Mountain Leader Association) mountain leader. In June 2021 she completed the additional training for T4 routes (alpine hiking trails).

Before arriving in Switzerland, she worked for 10 years in Chamonix, France and 2 seasons in Niseko, Japan as a ski tour guide.

Sanna speaks fluent German, English and of course her native Finnish.

She has been guiding hikes regularly for the Urner Wanderwege club since 2017. On summer 2017, she implemented a 48-day relaunch project “Urner Alpenkranz live!” as a long-distance trekking project, together with Markus, and was hiking through all the 40 stages at one go.  www.alpenkranz.ch.

Sanna is looking forward to meeting you and hopes that she will be able to pass on to you her enthusiasm for the mountains, the beauty of nature and for being on the road with animals.

Markus Fehlmann

Master beekeeper & goat master =)

Markus, originally from the Wynental, lived for a long time in the city of Lucerne. His work and his love for the mountains brought him 2008 to the canton of Uri.

Above many other things Markus has a degree as a Master beekeeper. He got his know-how as a master beekeeper in the beekeeping school in Graz, Styria Austria. There, where the beekeeping craft already has a centuries-old tradition.

Markus is responsible for the bee welfare and honey of Honigberg. In addition to the organic production of delicious mountain honey and other bee products, he offers insights and training around beekeeping. At Honigberg you can also visit the bees and experience a touch of the phenomenon of the honeybees, of course combined with honey tasting.
